Working Out With Hair Extensions
Don’t give up staying in shape for hair extensions or skip out on hair extensions because you love to sweat. You can still measure up at the gym and have perfectly long flowing locks. (But not at the same time).
When it comes to your workout hairstyle and keeping your extensions from collecting moisture or getting damaged, it’s safest to use a head wrap or bandana to keep all of your hair up and secure. If you don’t have one lying around, wear your hair in a high, loose bun or pony tail. You want to avoid any hairstyles that are too tight because this locks in moisture, but you also don’t want to let your hair fly around in your face because it will collect sweat from your skin.
Make sure to shower and wash your hair as soon as you’re done. Lounging around in sweaty workout clothes for a while after exercising is common and tempting, but could lead to a break-out. Along with cleaning your hair and drying it out, you also need to take care of your skin. Women especially are susceptible to break-outs if we stay in sweaty clothes.
When you swim or do laps in the pool, wearing a swim cap is the best option, which will also make you more hydrodynamic so that you to swim faster. Your hair will stay dry and untangled. Also, avoid too much exposure to heat from the sun, and use a hat or bandana when running or hiking.
I bet you didn’t know that it’s becoming very popular for male NFL football players to wear hair extensions. I know! They’re last people you would think to get them, but if they want to do it, more power to them. And if they can wear hair extensions and still put in a daily, rough and tough workout session, you can, too.
